Reel Impact is a new competition designed to recognise and encourage world-leading research impact and translation at the University of Melbourne.
To enter, researchers are invited to present their research impact as either an engaging 60-second video or visual storyboard for live presentation.
The competition will challenge researchersto succinctly describe their research and the impact it has had within society, to a non-specialist audience, and will also provide a unique opportunity to build their research translation and digital literacy skills.
Reel Impact is open to all current Academic staff members of the University of Melbourne. Entries will be accepted from individual researchers or project teams. Three winning entries will each receive up to $8,000to collaborate with their choice of professional media storyteller to create an animated or live-action production to highlight the impact that has been achieved through their research (enabling future promotion of their research through social media and other online platforms).
